Commercial work demands durable construction, fast installation and drawings that a contractor can build to. The Oakdale shop has produced a curved café servery, reception and service desks, banquette seating for restaurants and clinics, a bar and brick wine cellar, cabinetry for a veterinary hospital, and a mail room whose counter is a solid timber with the end grain out.
For a collegiate Gothic university campus in New England, Chris built and installed carved oak entry doors, refectory tables and chairs for the dining halls, reading-room furniture for a great library, auditorium seating and the curved oak benches that ring the trees of the old quadrangle.
Chris works from architects’ drawings, produces shop drawings for approval, and delivers and installs with a small crew across Long Island, New York City and Connecticut.
